This project aimed towards reimagining a well known character into a different place and time while keeping the core of said character firm in it's original portrayal
I decided on a reimagination of the iconic Sherlock Holmes in early 1900s China for a more animated/kid friendly style
I started on a simple shape breakdown for the character, then pivoting into creating a distinct but recognizable face for Holmes.
I went with a more haught face that oozes arrogance by tweaking the eyes to have a more angular shape.
Since we are reading the story from the point of Holmes I want to show the character as righteous and dependable by giving him a more square and rectangular shape.
